BENTSAI E61P Date Coding on Abalone Cans: An Inline Printing Application
How can manufacturing and expiry dates be printed directly onto food cans? This application footage shared with PTS Technology Sdn Bhd shows a BENTSAI E61P being used for date coding on abalone cans in a conveyor setup.
From conveyor setup to printed result
The video shows cans moving along a conveyor beneath the mounted printing assembly. A separate close-up shows black text printed directly on the metal can end, including manufacturing and expiry date fields. This is direct inkjet coding, rather than an adhesive date label.

A closer look at the date code
The printed sample shows a compact, multi-line layout on the can end. The close-up gives packaging teams a practical example of date-code placement on this particular surface.

Test your own can surface before choosing a setup
This example documents one application; it does not establish suitability for every metal can or coating. Ink selection, surface condition, print position, drying time and conveyor settings should be checked using the actual packaging.
For your own application, share the can material or coating details, the required date-code format and your intended line speed with PTS. Adhesion and readability should also be assessed under the handling and storage conditions relevant to your product. The footage alone does not verify resistance to washing, sterilisation or long-term storage, or suitability for direct food contact.
Discuss your food-can coding requirements with PTS
Looking for an inline date-coding option for food packaging in Malaysia? Send PTS a photo or sample of your packaging and the information you need to print so we can discuss a suitable testing arrangement.
