Frequently Asked Questions for BENTSAI B71S / B71XS Handheld Inkjet Stamp Printer | 12.7 mm & 25.4 mm

What is the difference between the Bentsai B71S and B71XS handheld inkjet printers sold in Malaysia?
The key difference is standard print height: B71S supports 12.7 mm (0.5 inch) and up to 5 lines of text; B71XS supports 25.4 mm (1 inch) and up to 10 lines. A scanner module is optional, so scan-to-print requires a supported scanner configuration. B71XS supports a 50 mm QR-printing application with a dedicated optional fixture and suitable workflow; 50 mm is not its standard printhead height. Confirm the required configuration, print size, substrate and scanning performance with PTS Technology before purchase.
PTS Technology Sdn Bhd is the exclusive authorised distributor for BENTSAI handheld inkjet printers in Malaysia. Contact PTS for genuine products, compatible consumables and local technical assistance. Warranty coverage, spare-part availability and service arrangements are subject to the applicable product and quotation terms.
The manufacturer flyer lists water-based ink for selected porous and semi-porous materials such as paper, corrugated carton, wood, fibreboard and textile, and solvent-based ink for selected semi-porous and non-porous materials such as plastic, glass, metal plate, aluminium foil and cable. Actual compatibility and adhesion depend on the substrate, coating, surface treatment, cleanliness and ink option. Sample testing on the customer's actual material is required before purchase or production use.
The B71 Series supports date, counter and variable-information workflows. Confirm the functions and setup for the supplied model and software. Operators remain responsible for entering and verifying the correct batch data, date settings and expiry interval. The printer does not determine product shelf life or remove the need for quality checks.
B71S and B71XS support barcode and 2D-code printing in the formats listed by the manufacturer. Codes must fit the supported print area and remain readable by the customer's scanners. A 50 mm QR application on B71XS requires a dedicated optional fixture and suitable workflow. Confirm the configuration and test actual output; printing capability is not a guarantee of pallet-standard or traceability compliance.
Scan-to-print requires an optional supported scanner module; it should not be assumed to be included with every B71S or B71XS. With the appropriate configuration, scanned barcode or 2D-code data can be used in a supported print workflow. Confirm scanner availability, supported code formats and software configuration with PTS before ordering. Test the printed output with the scanners used in your own operation.
Solvent-based ink options are intended for selected semi-porous and non-porous materials, but drying and adhesion vary with the substrate, coating, surface treatment, ink formulation, print distance and operating environment. PTS Technology does not apply one drying-time guarantee to every material. Sample testing on the customer's actual packaging is required before production use.
B71S may suit selected corrugated cartons with the appropriate ink. Coatings, recycled-paper composition, dust, uneven surfaces and print positioning can affect results. Test the actual carton and required code before purchase or production use.
Yes. Custom logos and company graphics in JPG, JPEG, PNG, or BMP format can be imported into the device via a USB flash drive. Before importing, ensure the image vertical pixel count does not exceed 150 pixels. Copy the image file into the pictures folder on the USB drive, insert the drive into the printer, and import via the U-Disk menu. Once imported, logos can be combined with text, barcodes, dates, and counters in a single print template.
No. Both the B71S and B71XS are fully standalone units that operate without any external PC, laptop, or proprietary software. All print template creation, editing, counter setup, date configuration, and file management are performed directly on the built-in 4.3-inch HD capacitive touchscreen. The device runs on a Linux-based operating system and supports more than 20 system interface languages.
Yes. Variable data files prepared in Microsoft Excel or WPS Spreadsheet can be exported as TXT or CSV format and imported into the printer via a USB flash drive. The device supports sequential printing of variable text, variable QR codes, and variable barcodes, with up to three data columns supported per import file. This is suitable for printing unique serial numbers, customer order references, product codes, or personalized packaging labels in sequence.
The manufacturer flyer lists Code 128, Code 39, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, UPC-E and ITF-14, plus QR Code, Data Matrix and GS1 Data Matrix. Support for a symbology does not by itself confirm compliance with a customer's retailer, GS1, regulatory or export requirements. Customers should verify the required data structure, size, quiet zone, contrast and scanning performance for their own application.
The B71S supports up to 5 lines of text per pass with a minimum character height of 0.8mm and a maximum print height of 12.7mm. The B71XS supports up to 10 lines of text per pass with a minimum character height of 1.6mm and a maximum print height of 25.4mm. Both models support a maximum print length of 85mm per pass at print speeds of up to 100mm per second.
Actual battery runtime depends on print frequency, screen settings, accessories, battery condition and the operating environment. A full shift on one charge should not be assumed. Confirm the battery specification and permitted charging or external-power operation for the supplied unit with PTS.
Water-based ink options are listed in black, cyan, magenta, yellow and green. Solvent-based options are listed in black, cyan, magenta, yellow, white, green and invisible ink. Availability varies; contact PTS Technology to confirm the required colour and ink option for your substrate. Sample testing is recommended before production use.
The B71S supports both 300 DPI and 600 DPI resolution, giving users the flexibility to choose between faster output at 300 DPI or sharper detail at 600 DPI depending on the application. The B71XS supports 300 DPI resolution. Both models offer five levels of grayscale adjustment, with Level 3 as the default, allowing operators to control ink density and optimize print quality for different surfaces and materials.
Follow the manufacturer's care instructions for the exact printer and cartridge supplied. If output is faded or streaked, check cartridge seating and contact PTS for guidance before cleaning the nozzle. Do not use alcohol, solvents or cleaning agents unless confirmed suitable for that cartridge. Send PTS a photo of the print issue and the cartridge details for assistance.
When the printer is idle, follow the manufacturer's instructions for cartridge storage and protective capping. Care requirements depend on the ink formulation, idle period and environment. Do not apply a single idle-time limit to every cartridge. Contact PTS for guidance for the cartridge supplied.
Cartridge capacity and print yield depend on the cartridge supplied. Ink consumption varies with text size, coverage, resolution, print frequency and nozzle care. Ask PTS to confirm cartridge capacity and estimate consumption using your actual template; no fixed print yield is guaranteed for every application.
Printing on some curved or uneven surfaces may be possible when the printer can be guided at a stable distance and alignment, but suitability depends on the surface shape, material, coating, ink option and operator technique. The manufacturer specifies an ink throw distance of 2 mm to 5 mm. A successful result is not guaranteed for every bottle, pipe or package, so sample testing on the customer's actual item is required.
Confirm the weight of the exact printer configuration, including cartridge and accessories, with PTS. Evaluate handling comfort and the actual marking workflow before planning prolonged manual operation.
B71S and B71XS provide on-device message editing. Confirm the software functions, accessories and services included in your PTS quotation. Operating costs may include cartridges, routine care, replacement parts, accessories and out-of-warranty repairs. Do not assume all upgrades, services or additional configurations are included free of charge.
Contact PTS with your required model, quantity, delivery details and purchase-order requirements. PTS can confirm the quotation, order acceptance, payment terms and supporting documents available for your purchase.
The B71 Series comes pre-installed with the Yahei font as default and supports both TrueType and dot-matrix font formats. Additional custom fonts in TTF format can be installed by downloading the font file on a PC, copying it into the fonts folder on a USB flash drive, inserting the drive into the printer, and importing via the U-Disk menu. Custom fonts are particularly useful for facilities that require branded label typography or non-Latin character sets.
The manufacturer flyer states that the B71XS supports 50 mm QR printing with a dedicated optional fixture for suitable pallet-coding applications. The standard printhead height is 25.4 mm; the 50 mm QR application depends on the specified fixture and workflow. Please confirm the required QR size, substrate and scanning requirements with PTS Technology before purchase.
Print template files saved on the device can be exported to a USB flash drive via the U-Disk export function and then imported into another unit using the same import procedure. This allows standardized print templates to be duplicated across multiple B71S or B71XS units on different production lines without the need for a PC or network connection, ensuring consistent output across your entire facility.
Confirm order quantity, colour, cartridge compatibility, stock and delivery lead time with PTS before ordering. Specialty colours or formulations may require ordering and are not necessarily held in local stock.
Ask PTS to confirm the supplied model, serial details, purchase records and applicable warranty terms. Local support and warranty eligibility depend on the product supplied and the agreed terms; cartridge recognition alone is not proof of warranty coverage.
B71S and B71XS are intended for handheld guided printing. Do not assume they can be installed as automatic conveyor printers. For a fixed production-line application, ask PTS to assess a suitable industrial inline model, sensor arrangement, line speed and substrate.
