25.4 mm / 1-inch 2.5–25.4 mm; up to 10 lines 300 dpi Up to 30 m/min at 300 dpi

Maximum print size is 12.7 × 406 mm for the 0.5-inch configuration and 25.4 × 406 mm for the 1-inch configuration. Production settings should be validated using the real message, conveyor speed and substrate.

Optional printhead plates for curved or recessed surfaces

Optional BENTSAI E61P protruding printhead plate for curved surfaces

Optional protruding or flat printhead plates are available where the standard plate cannot be positioned sufficiently close to a curved or recessed surface. Suitability depends on the product profile, available mounting space and the required 2–5 mm nozzle-to-product distance. A sample installation check is recommended.

Flexible conveyor installation

Optional rotating bracket for BENTSAI E61P conveyor installation

The E61P supports downward and sideward printing orientations. An optical sensor can trigger the printer as products pass the coding position, while continuous printing mode is also available. Optional rotating, anti-shock and fine-adjustment mounting components can help with narrow or difficult conveyor layouts. These brackets are optional accessories and should be selected according to the installation.

Ink and substrate selection

BENTSAI E61P ink selection for porous and non-porous substrates

Manufacturer documentation lists water-based cartridges for porous and semi-porous materials such as paper, corrugated board, wood, fibreboard and cotton. Solvent-based cartridges are listed for semi-porous and non-porous materials such as plastic, glass, metal plate, aluminium foil and cable. Colour availability varies by compatible ink family.

Ink compatibility is application-specific. Coatings, surface treatment, dust, oil, condensation, temperature, production speed and required rub resistance can affect adhesion. Test the selected cartridge on the actual material before production approval.

Batch, expiry-date, barcode, QR code and variable-data printing

BENTSAI E61P barcode QR code and variable data printing

The E61P supports text, numbers, images, dates, time, counters and database-linked data. Linear barcode formats include Code 128, Code 39, EAN-8, EAN-13, UPC-A, ITF 2 of 5 and ITF-14. Supported 2D formats include QR Code, Data Matrix and GS1 DataMatrix. Image files can be imported in JPG, JPEG, PNG and BMP formats, while external TrueType fonts can be used from a connected USB drive.

Variable text, QR codes and barcodes can be prepared in compatible CSV or Unicode TXT files and imported by USB. The manual lists recognition of up to five columns, with one column used at a time and up to 20,485 rows per column.

Important: support for a barcode or GS1-related format does not by itself establish regulatory or customer compliance. Data structure, symbol size, quiet zones, verification, ink suitability and the applicable requirement must be checked separately.

Frequently Asked Questions for BENTSAI E61P Inline TIJ Coding Printer | Up to 25.4mm

What is the Bentsai E61P and what industries is it suitable for?
The BENTSAI E61P is an all-in-one industrial inline TIJ printer for conveyor and packaging-line coding. It can be evaluated for batch and date coding, text, logos and machine-readable codes in packaging, food and beverage, cosmetics, manufacturing and other applications. Suitability depends on the selected cartridge, surface coating, code size, line speed and installation. Test the actual material and verify code readability. Printing information does not itself establish regulatory approval or a complete traceability system.
The E61P supports text, numbers, logos, images, dates, counters, barcodes, QR Code, Data Matrix and database-related content. Supported image formats include JPG, JPEG, PNG and BMP. Printable height is up to 12.7 mm or 25.4 mm according to the installed cartridge and printhead plate. Confirm file preparation and variable-data settings for the supplied firmware, and test code readability on the actual material. Printing codes does not by itself establish regulatory compliance.
The E61P flyer lists 300/600 dpi for the 12.7 mm configuration with a maximum speed of 60 m/min, and 300 dpi for the 25.4 mm configuration with a maximum of 30 m/min. The manual identifies 60 m/min as the fastest speed at 300 dpi; maximum speed at 600 dpi varies with density. The manual describes density levels 1–10, while the flyer lists 1–5. Confirm available settings on the supplied firmware and validate the actual message, material and conveyor speed. These maxima are not guaranteed production speeds.
The E61P installation guide shows downward and sideward printing arrangements. For downward printing it specifies two M4 × 16 screws for the mount base; use the illustrated holes for the selected orientation. X-Y fine-adjustment module mounting holes are also shown. Follow the original diagrams and confirm the bracket, clearance and sensor positioning with PTS. Rotating and anti-shock brackets are listed as optional accessories, not a guarantee of protection against every collision.
To switch between cartridge sizes, you need to replace the printhead panel. First, shut down the printer completely before starting the replacement — this is mandatory. Then unscrew the 4 pieces of M2.5 x 8 screws on the front panel and remove the existing panel. Install the new panel for the desired cartridge size (either the standard panel or the optional flat protruding panel) and screw it back in securely. The 0.5-inch panel allows print heights of 2.5mm to 12.7mm with up to 5 lines and resolution up to 600 DPI, while the 1-inch panel allows print heights of 2.5mm to 25.4mm with up to 10 lines at 300 DPI.
Basic operation and job editing can be performed on the E61P 4.3-inch touchscreen without a continuously connected computer. The system uses Linux and the manual lists 128 MB memory, approximately 3,000 messages depending on content. Images, fonts and database files may need preparation on a computer and USB import. Job management supports saving, recalling and group printing in a specified sequence.
The Bentsai E61P supports two triggering methods. The first is photoelectric sensor triggering (Sensory Mode), where an external optical sensor detects the product passing on the conveyor and automatically triggers the printer to fire. The sensor port is a dedicated port on the back of the unit. The second is continuous printing mode, where the printer fires repeatedly at a set interval and count without needing a sensor trigger. In continuous mode, the print count can be set from 1 to 999,999 times and the print interval can be set from 0 to 2,000mm. The print delay can be adjusted from 0 to 500mm to synchronize the print position accurately with the product on the conveyor.
The manufacturer documents a multilingual interface, including English, Chinese, German, French, Spanish, Arabic and other languages. Available languages vary by region and machine version. Check System Settings > Language Settings on the supplied unit, or confirm the required language with PTS before purchase. Do not assume Bahasa Melayu is included without checking the actual unit.
Use Print Editing > Add > Time, select the required date format and enable Auto Update when the date should change automatically. The manual describes an expiry-duration setting from 1 to 7,300 days. This is a software offset range, not a recommended or validated product shelf life. The customer must determine the correct shelf life and verify the printer clock, format and resulting date on a sample before production. Menu options depend on firmware.
In Print Editing, select Add > Number. The manual describes automatic increment or decrement with start, current, end and step settings according to the mode. Select the required number format, including leading zeros where appropriate. Check the repetition or cycle settings and run a sample to confirm the numbering sequence before production.
Yes. The manual describes preparing data in Excel or WPS, exporting CSV in UTF-8 or a compatible Unicode TXT file, and placing it in the Database folder of a USB drive. In Print Editing, select Add > Database for variable text, QR codes or barcodes. The documented limit is five recognised columns, with only one column used at a time, and up to 20,485 rows per column. Confirm file encoding, selected column, start/end rows and sample output on the supplied firmware before production.
The manual lists built-in Yahei.ttf and Song.ttf fonts. For additional fonts, copy a suitable TTF file into the fonts folder on a USB drive and select it on the printer. Keep the USB drive connected while using external fonts. Use fonts you are entitled to use and check the display and printed output before production.
The E61P manual lists Nozzle Clean, Nozzle Wet and Print Test Page under Device Maintenance. Follow the illustrated procedure for the supplied printer and ink cartridge, using a suitable test surface, and check the result before production. These functions do not eliminate routine cartridge handling and storage. Ink pulse width and voltage are recognised automatically according to the manual and should not be adjusted without manufacturer guidance. Contact PTS if print quality remains poor.
The E61P flyer specifies an AC 100–240 V input adapter with DC 9 V, 2 A output, an operating temperature of 5–35°C and humidity of 10–80%. Published document versions differ on storage temperature; follow the manual and storage requirements supplied with the actual unit and cartridge. Confirm the correct power adapter and installation conditions with PTS before use.
The E61P manual describes a USB update through Device Maintenance > Firmware Upgrade. Obtain the correct firmware for the exact model and current version from BENTSAI or PTS support before proceeding; do not use firmware intended for another model. Follow the supplied update instructions and keep power stable during the process. Menu names may vary by firmware version.
